IOS supports local drama groups

A leading storage and inspection firm is spreading the warmth this festive season by donating branded waterproof jackets to a local day service.

Independent Oilfield Services (IOS), which was established in 2014 and has a tubular oilfeild supply base in Peterhead, made the donation to the Willowbank Centre, also based in the area, to show its support for the day service’s drama groups.

The day service plays house to The Trinity Players and The Blue Toon All Stars drama groups, both made up of adults with learning disabilities.

The award winning Trinity Players are a group of 10 who specialise in putting on performances and workshops for school children, whilst The Blue Toon All Stars are a group of 18 who devise their own musicals and also includes volunteers from within the community and drama students from Mintlaw Academy.

Both groups are warming up this December to perform at their first outdoor event on Saturday 12, which will include a unique rendition of Razzle Dazzle from Chicago, a powerful solo movement piece and a local take on Petula Clark’s ‘Downtown’.

Morag Skene, Willowbank care assistant, writer, performer and director of both drama groups, said: “We are thrilled the groups now have warm, waterproof jackets to wear for their upcoming outdoor performance. It’s the first time they have been asked to perform in the great outdoors and we were a little worried with the winter weather drawing in, however IOS were able to save the day and we are very thankful for that.”

Glynn Geddie, business development manager at IOS, said: “We are more than happy to support the local drama groups and are always very open to helping out within our community. I know our staff are looking forward to the upcoming performance in December and I’m sure both groups will put on a fantastic show.”

IOS has drawn upon 20 years experience in Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) and drill pipe inspection to offer storage, handling, inspection, refurbishment and management of oilfield equipment and tubulars.

The firm’s tubular supply base, with up to 80-acres of availabe space, is located only four miles from Peterhead Port and is a one-stop shop for oilfeild equipment, including casing, tubing and drillpipe.

IOS is offering its support to the local community, as it is open to providing further sponsorship opportunities to local clubs and groups, demonstrating its active community involvement in Peterhead and the surrounding areas.
