A North-east tour car racing driver is set to compete in his first race with a British racing car specialist in the upcoming V de V Endurance Championship at Magny-Cours in central France.
Glynn Geddie, from Aberdeen, will join Ginetta’s Team LNT and partner with Danish racing driver, Morten Dons, in a factory-entered car for the competition this weekend (October 10/11).
Although this will be Geddie’s first race with Ginetta, Mr Geddie has an impressive racing history, and has competed in championship titles in the Dutch Supercar Challenge Championship (2013), British GT Championship (2011) and Porsche Carrera Cup GB (2008, 2009).
Glynn Geddie, who is also business development manager at Independent Oilfield Services (IOS), said: “I’m delighted to be given this last minute opportunity with Ginetta. This will be a new track for me and therefore a big challenge, however I’ve been looking into racing an LMP3 for a while now so the timing couldn’t be better, and after Ginetta winning the last round, I know the car has the pace.
“I was also given the opportunity to race in the British Tour Car Championship this weekend for the final round at Brands Hatch, however I chose to try the LMP3 instead as this type of race car is more of a step into the future. We will have to see how testing goes and work our way to the front but we’re hoping to have a strong weekend and I will be hungry to get a good result out of the LMP3 from the start.”
Lawrence Tomlinson, owner of The LNT Group and competing in a second factory-entered car, said: “I’m looking forward to being back in the V de V paddock next weekend. The Ginetta Prototype showed its strength at Paul Ricard a couple of months ago, so we’ll be aiming for more of the same at Magny-Cours.”
